Mon Repos Turtle Centre
Witness an ancient life cycle of the animal kingdom, as majestic sea turtles make their journey to the shore to lay their eggs. Delight at the sight of their young, hatching months later, and making their perilous journey to the sea.
Mon Repos is special! It supports the largest concentration of nesting marine turtles on the eastern Australian mainland and has the most significant loggerhead turtle nesting population in the South Pacific region. The success of nesting and hatching turtles at Mon Repos is critical for the survival of the endangered loggerhead turtle.
At this globally-significant site you can learn all about these extraordinary animals and the conservation and research programs that are protecting them at the turtle centre, and even have a turtle encounter like very few others in the world.

Bundaberg Rum Distillery
Australia’s most awarded rum distillery, and the home of Bundaberg Rum, opened the doors to a new Visitor Experience in August 2016 following an AUD8.5 million upgrade.
The Visitor Experience offers three tours; The Bundaberg Rum Museum Experience, The Bundaberg Rum Distillery Experience and a Blend Your Own Rum Experience. There is also an expanded retail experience and bar area where visitors can purchase exclusive and limited edition products only available from the distillery.
The Museum Experience is a self-guided tour, where you will walk through six 75000 litre oak vats in a unique sensory experience that showcases the proud and rich history behind the iconic Australian rum.
After exploring the museum, join one of their expert distillery guides on a guided journey deep into the heart of their fully operational Bundaberg Rum Distillery.
For those that want to try their hand at becoming a Master Blender, the Blend Your Own Rum Experience allows you to learn the art of blending with two expert rum blending guides. Each guest will craft their unique blend, pour it direct from the barrel, and leave the very same day with two personalised bottles. One to keep, and one to enjoy!

Hinkler Hall of Aviation
The Hinkler Hall of Aviation is a tourist attraction and visitor experience operated by the Bundaberg Regional Council. The complex is an outstanding example of several communities working together with all levels of government to celebrate and honour the life and pioneering efforts of Bundaberg’s own aviation pioneer, Bert Hinkler. The Hinkler Hall of Aviation pays tribute to Bert Hinkler as a pioneer of flight and as a person who was significant in the advancement of aviation during the early 20th century.
The Hall itself is a modern, dynamic and unique structure, made of soaring glass and steel, and filled with the personal story of Bert Hinkler. In this very building, Bert’s accomplishments are brought to life, offering the ability to view and obtain a real understanding of the historical, social, technical and physical impact arising from the achievements of one of Australia’s leading aviators. The experience brings together every element of Bert’s earliest dreams of adventure and imagination, and stands as one of Australia’s most significant cultural and educational attractions, catering for residents of and visitors to Bundaberg, history students and the budding aviation enthusiast.

Bundaberg Botanic Gardens
A great way to spend a day in the Bundaberg Region is in the sub-tropical surrounds of the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens.
Located on Mt Perry Road on the city’s northern outskirts, the Botanic Gardens sprawl over 27 hectares of land and feature a variety of 10,000 trees and shrubs. A magnificent lake, creating a habitat attracting up to 114 species of birds, is centrepiece of the Botanic Gardens, while a wedding chapel, shaded picnic areas, themed boardwalks, Japanese gardens and children’s playground enhance the appeal of one of Bundaberg’s favourite lifestyle precincts.
The Bundaberg Botanic Gardens are open to the public from 5:30am til 6:45pm during the months September to April, and from 6:30am til 6pm during the months May to August.
